Volunteering at Hitch

Hitch relies heavily on Volunteers to support the service as drivers and office assistants. Our volunteers come from across the Shire, from Bermagui to Eden, with the largest numbers in Bega and Merimbula.

To be part of the team volunteers must attend an initial interview, have a clear police check, participate in an orientation program, attend driver information days and sign a contract which confirms an understanding of their role at Hitch.

Drivers need to have good time management skills, an understanding of the clients transport needs, a cheerful disposition and a willingness to be a flexible team member.
